Intention:

When you start your journey as a Host, you will have a lot of responsibility, as well as a lot of opportunities to bring about the changes you want as talked about in the Intention task. You are definitely not alone in this, you have a whole team of Hosts and locals to support you. Often though, this resource can easily be wasted or left unused throughout the year. In this session, we reflect and decide upon what structures, practices, and habits you want to have as a team. This is to increase the overall safety of the whole program, to make sure that you have everything you need to deliver as a Host, and that you can make most out of this year as a team.

How:

1

(5min) Answer/reflect upon the following questions: Where do you need to be supported as a Host? Where do you need to be challenged as a Host?

2

(20min) Share your thoughts with the team. Make sure that one person is able to capture what is being presented.

3

(30min) Based on the needs that are present in the room, work together to design/create your team support system for the year, including any rules, habits, celebrations, and structures you want to have as a team.

Guiding questions: -What kind of structures can you set to decrease the chance of conflict and frustration throughout the year? -What kind of rules do you want to commit to as a team? -What kind of habits do you want as a team? what kind of habits would support/challenge the team where it is needed? -When and what do you celebrate? Make sure to note down and save everything you agree on, so it is easy to revisit at any time.

4

(5min) Time to get creative about your commitment: Create a little ceremony where everyone on the team does a symbolic action to show that they commit to the structures, rules, celebrations and habits you have created together.
